Love What You Do

“Love what you do.”

Cliché? Maybe. A pipe dream? I don’t think so.

For years, I had that phrase framed and hanging in my office. And the truth is—I did love what I did. I loved showing up to work each day, leading my team, and being part of meaningful work. But over time, I realized that loving what you do doesn’t always mean it’s easy, glamorous, or even fun every day.

To me, loving what you do means something deeper. It means your work is fulfilling—personally and professionally. It means it creates value for the people around you: your customers, your community, and your family. It means putting in the hard work, rolling up your sleeves, and doing the things others might shy away from. It means learning from challenges and using them as opportunities to grow.

And sometimes, loving what you do also means recognizing when it’s time for a new chapter.

A Year of Change

2025 brought some big life changes for me. Change is rarely easy, but it always builds character. And for that, I’m grateful. I’m filled with excitement and trust in what God has in store.

In 2026, I’m stepping into self-employment and launching Uplift Events, a business built around my love for people, meaningful work, and bringing great ideas to life.

Planning and organizing events is something I’ve been doing for as long as I can remember. From corporate gatherings and sales events to community fundraisers and family celebrations, I’ve always been drawn to the process of turning ideas into memorable experiences. (And yes, I thrive with at least a little bit of chaos.)

My background in business operations, food service, and sales has given me the tools to manage details, navigate logistics, and create events that feel both seamless and personal. Through Uplift Events, my goal is simple: to provide a thoughtful, organized, and authentic planning experience that allows my clients to fully enjoy the moments that matter most.

As I look ahead, 2026 is shaping up to be a big year—launching a business, turning 40, celebrating 19 years of marriage, learning how to sew, perfecting my homemade pizza crust, and embracing every moment as an “old mom” to my toddler.

It’s going to be a full season of life—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

One thing I know for sure: I still love what I do.

And that’s exactly why I started Uplift Events.

Top 10 things I love about events:

  1. Collaborating with clients to develop the vision for each unique event

  2. Bringing that vision to life

  3. Taking things off your plate so you can enjoy the experience

  4. Creating a detailed and seamless timeline

  5. The satisfaction that comes after a successful event

  6. Being a little “bossy” when needed (in the nicest way possible)

  7. Meeting new people and building relationships

  8. Supporting amazing local vendors

  9. Personalizing the small details that make an event special

  10. Helping you look your very best in front of your guests

Let’s Create Something Meaningful

Whether you’re planning a corporate event, celebration, or special gathering, you can trust that your event is in capable hands with Uplift Events.

After all, when you truly love what you do, it shows.

Cheers!
